Professor: B.Sc. m Agricultural Science and allied Science with M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy/Soil Science/Soil Chemistry/Irrigation Water Management with consistently good academic record and minimum 55% marks throughout with Ph.D and good published works.

Associate Professor: B.Sc. in Agricultural Science and allied Science with M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy/Soil Science/Soil Chemistry/Irrigation Water Management with consistently good academic record and minimum 55% marks throughout with Ph.D and good published works.

Deputy Director: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent and 5 years' अनुभव in Administration/ Establishment and related matters.

Administrative Officer: Degree from a recognised University or equivalent and 2 years' अनुभव in administration/establishment and related matters.
Assistant Library & Information Officer: Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a recognised University/ Institute.

उत्तर पूर्वी क्षेत्रीय जल संस्थान और जल प्रबंधन की स्थापना 23 दिसंबर 1989 को भारत सरकार के गृह मंत्रालय (अब उत्तर पूर्व क्षेत्र के विकास विभाग) के तहत उत्तर पूर्वी परिषद, गृह मंत्रालय के तत्वावधान में एक पंजीकृत समाज के रूप में की गई थी। 1 अप्रैल, 2012 को MoWR, RD और GR और NEC के बीच स्थानांतरण का एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे और वर्तमान में NERIWALM जल संसाधन, नदी विकास और गंगा कायाकल्प, सरकार के अधीन है। भारत की।
