शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
(a) M.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech.) in the disciplines of Physics/Geophysics/Space Physics/Applied Geology & Applied Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks throughout or equivalent CGPA grade and Physics or Mathematics as a subject in B.Sc./graduation level.
(b) Those appearing for Master’s degree final year examination during the year 2023 in the above subjects may also apply. However, if selected, they should be able to produce the mandatory documents after fulfilling the eligibility criteria at the time of joining the Institute.

भारतीय भूचुंबकत्व संस्थान (IIG) देश का एक प्रमुख संस्थान है, जो भूचुंबकत्व तथा वायुमंडलीय एवं अंतरिक्ष भौतिकी और प्लाज़्मा भौतिकी जैसे संबंधित क्षेत्रों में सक्रिय रुप से मौलिक एवं अनुप्रयुक्त अनुसंधान का काम कर रहा है. इसने सन् 1826 में स्थापित कुलाबा वेधशाला के उत्तराधिकारी के रुप में काम शुरु किया, जो बाद में 1841 में देश की पहली नियमित चुंबकीय वेधशाला बन गई I IIG 1971 में स्वायत्त अनुसंधान संस्थान बन गया और अब यह विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग, भारत सरकार के अंतर्गत है.
