शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
a. For disciplines other than Engineering subject Doctoral degree in Agriculture subject including relevant basic science with 8 years अनुभवs in relevant subject Scientist/ Lecturer/ Extension specialist or in an equivalent having made contribution to research/ teaching/ extension as evidence by published work/ innovations and impact. (Or)

b. For Engineering disciplines: Doctoral degree in relevant Agriculture engineering subject with 6 years अनुभवs as Scientist/ Lecturer/ Extension specialist or in an equivalent position having made contribution to research/ teaching/ extension education as evidence by published work/innovations and impact (Or)

c. Master degree in relevant Agriculture engineering subject with 10 years अनुभवs as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension specialist or in an equivalent position having made contribution to research/ teaching/ extension education as evidence by published work/innovations and impact.

It is an unique outreach institution run by Social Change And Development (SCAD) with the support of Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR), New Delhi, for the development of farm and home through technology assessment, refinement, demonstration and dissemination to extension functionaries, farmers, farm women and rural youth. SCAD KVK was started in 1995 at vagaikulam, Thoothukudi District with an vision of enriching the farming community to make farming and it’s allied occupations productive and remunerative through scientific and systematic approach. KVK’s are playing a vital role in diseminating the latest technologies developed from the agricultural university, colleges and Reginal Research Stations to the rural farming communities. SCAD – KVK is also fully equipped with modern facilities to cater the multi- dimensional requirements of the farmers.
