शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
Director: Candidates Should have Chartered Accountant (CA) holding membership from the ICAI or B. Tech./B.E with MBA(Finance)/equivalent from a recognized University.
Director - Information Technology (IT): Candidates Should have BE / B.Tech. (Computer Science Engineering/Information Technology) /M. Tech/ MCA or equivalent from a recognized university.
Associate Director: Candidates Should have Chartered Accountant (CA) holding membership from the ICAI or B. Tech./B. E with MBA(Finance)/equivalent from a recognized University.
Associate Director (Estates, Services & Admin): Candidates Should have BE / B.Tech Civil/Mechanical/Electrical from a recognized University. Relevant master's degree is preferred.
Senior Associate: Candidates Should have Chartered Accountant (CA) holding membership from the ICAI or B. Tech./B. E with MBA(Finance)/equivalent from a recognized University.
Senior Associate - IT: Candidates Should have BCA / BE / B.Tech (Computer Science Engineering/Information Technology) /M.Tech/ MCA or equivalent from a recognized university.
Associate (Advisory): Candidates Should have Chartered Accountant (CA) holding membership from the ICAI.

स्वतंत्रता के समय वर्ष 1947 में भारत का पूंजी बाजार तुलनात्मक रूप से कम विकसित था । यद्यपि इस समय नई पूंजी की मांग बहुत अधिक थी, किन्तु पूंजी प्रदाताओं की कमी थी । मर्चेन्ट बैंकर्स और हामीदारी करने वाली कम्पनियां लगभग न के बराबर थीं और वाणिज्यिक बैंक उद्योगों को यथोचित तरीके से दीर्घकालिक औद्योगिक वित्त प्रदान करने में समर्थ नहीं थे ।
इस पृष्ठभूमि में सरकार ने औद्योगिक क्षेत्र की दीर्घकालिक वित्तीय आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिए प्रथम विकास वित्तीय संस्थान के रूप में 1 जुलाई, 1948 को भारतीय औद्योगिक वित्त निगम (आईएफसीआई) की स्थापना की । नए स्थापित इस विकास वित्तीय संस्थान को केन्द्रीय बैंक के सांविधिक नकदी अनुपात या एसएलआर के माध्यम से कम लागत वाली निधियों तक पहुंच प्रदान की गई, जिससे यह संस्थान निगमित ऋणियों को रियायती दरों पर ऋण एवं अग्रिम राशि प्रदान कर सका ।
