a. Masters Degree in Zoology with specialization in Fisheries; M.F.Sc. or M. Sc. In Marine Biology or M.Sc. in Industrial Fisheries or M. Sc. In Aquaculture or M.Sc. in Fisheries Science from a recognized University or Institute.
b. Ten years' अनुभव of research or development in the field of Fisheries (Inland or Marine or Aquaculture) including management, policy and planning, formulation and monitoring of development schemes for fisheries, Parliament or legislative or international cooperation and trade or fishery health related matter from a Central or State Government Department or Public Sector Undertaking or Recognised Research Institute or Semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous Organisation.
4. Desirable: Doctorate degree in Zoology from a recognized University or Institute
5. pay Scale : Pay Matrix (Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 7600 pre-revised)

पशुपालन, डेयरी और मत्स्यपालन विभाग, कृषि मंत्र्यालय का एक विभाग है। यह कृषि और सहकारिता विभाग के दो प्रभागों अर्थात पशुपालन और डेयरी विकास को मिला करके 1 फरबरी , 1991 को अस्तित्व में आया था। कृषि और सहकारिता विभाग का मात्स्यिकी प्रभाग तथा खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्रालय का एक हिस्सा इस नए विभाग में 10 अक्टूबर 1997 में अंतरित कर दिया गया था। यह विभाग पशुधन उत्पाद, उनके संरक्षण, रोगों से सुरक्षा तथा पशुधन में सुधार तथा डेयरी विकास के साथ-साथ दिल्ली दुग्ध योजना और राष्ट्रीय डेयरी विकास बोर्ड से जुड़े मामलों के प्रति भी जिम्मेवार है। यह अंतर्देशीय तथा समुद्री मत्स्यन व् मात्स्यिकी से जुड़े मामलों को भी देखता है।
