शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualifications):
i) For Pay Band Level-5:- A University Degree or its equivalent examination.
ii) For Pay Band Level-4:- 12th (10+2) Passed with Physics and Math in higher secondary examination or 10th Passed plus ITI or it's equivalent (NAC from NCVT) examination for the technical category.
iii) For Pay Band Level-2 and Level-3:- 12th (10+2) or its equivalent examination for NTPC and 10th Pass plus ITI for technical category or equivalent (NAC from NCVT) or 12th (10+2) Passed with Physics and math in higher secondary examination.

The SC/ST, women, minority candidates (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists &Zoroastrian’s [Parsis]) and candidates belonging to economically backward classes (whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/- per annum) have to pay Indian Postal Order/Bank Demand Draft of Rs.250/-.

तीन चरण एसी ड्राइव डीसी ड्राइव के साथ, 25kv एसी लोकोमोटिव के साथ 25 केवी एसी लोको – सीएलडब्ल्यू विद्युत इंजनों बनाती है. यह एक दुनिया में सबसे बड़ा इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव निर्माता है. सीएलडब्ल्यू भी एसी और डीसी ट्रैक्शन मोटर्स, स्विच गियर / नियंत्रण गियर, डाली और गढ़े डिब्बे, व्हील सेट और स्टील कास्टिंग बनाती है. चितरंजन लोकोमोटिव वर्क्स (सीएलडब्ल्यू) महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, नेता, राजनेता और Deshbandhu चित्तरंजन दास के बाद नाम दिया गया है.
उत्पादन गतिविधि दिन जब भारत गणतंत्र बने 26 जनवरी, 1950 को शुरू कर दिया. चितरंजन लोकोमोटिव वर्क्स के प्रारंभिक उत्पाद भाप लोकोमोटिव था. अवधि में 1950-1972 चितरंजन लोकोमोटिव वर्क्स 2351 भाप इंजनों की कुल संख्या कर दिया. 1968-1993 तक सीएलडब्ल्यू 842 डीजल इंजनों का उत्पादन किया और 1961 से विभिन्न प्रकार के इलेक्ट्रिक इंजनों का uptill 31-3-13 कुल 4916 उत्पादन किया .
